os.ExpandEnv() function in Golang

Problem Solution:

In this program, we will use os.ExpandEnv() function to expand or format a specified string using argument passed on the command line and print the result on the console screen.

Program/Source Code:

The source code to demonstrate the os.Expand() function is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on the ubuntu 18.04 operating system successfully.

Golang code to demonstrate the example of os.ExpandEnv() function

// Golang program to demonstrate
// the os.ExpandEnv() function

package main

import "fmt"
import "os"

func main() {
	str := "My name is $Name and live in $City."

	//Format the specified string using os.ExpandEnv
	strResult := os.ExpandEnv(str)

	fmt.Println(strResult)
}

Output:

$ Name=Rahul City=Agra go run test.go

My name is Rahul and live in Agra.

Explanation:

In the above program, we declare the package main. The main package is used to tell the Go language compiler that the package must be compiled and produced the executable file. Here, we imported the "fmt" package to use the Printf() function and we also imported the "os" package to use the ExpandEnv() function.

In the main() function, we formatted a string using os.ExpandEnv() function with the help of argument passed at runtime and printed the result on the console screen.
