Short class shortValue() method

  • shortValue() method is available in java.lang package.
  • shortValue() method is used to return the value denoted by this Short object converted to type short (by casting).
  • shortValue() method is a non-static method, it is accessible with the class object only and if we try to access the method with the class name then we will get an error.
  • shortValue() method does not throw an exception at the time of conversion from Short to short.

Syntax

public short shortValue();

Parameters

  • It does not accept any parameter.

Return Value

The return type of this method is short, it returns a converted (from type Short to short) value represented by this Short object.
