MRF is an abbreviation of Madras Rubber Factory Limited. It is a multinational private-sector corporation and the largest Tyre manufacturing corporation based in India.
MRF head office is situated in Chennai, India. It manufactures all types of tyres, the majority of which particularly are vehicle tyres, treads, tubes, etc.

MRF History

  • Madras Rubber Factory (MRF) is founded by K.M. Mammen Mappillai.
  • In 1946 as a startup, it was established as a toy balloon manufacturing entity at Tiruvottiyur, Madras (now Chennai).
  • In 1952, MRF was ventured into the manufacture of tread rubber.
  • In 1960, it was integrated as a private limited company.
  • In 1973, MRF began manufacturing of Nylon tyres for the very first time.
  • In 1989, the corporation worked in partnership with Hasbro International United States, the world's largest toymaker and introduced Funskool India.

  • Vehicle Tyres: MRF manufactures tyres for different types of vehicles. For example cars, two-wheelers, tractors, trucks, buses, light commercial vehicles, etc.
  • Conveyor Belts: It manufactures it as a domestic brand of Muscleflex conveyor belts.
  • Paints: It manufactures polyurethane paint formulations and coats for automotive, decorative and industrial purposes.
  • Cricket: MRF manufactures cricket bats, gloves, pads, and other accessories.

  • 'Top Export Award' from Chemicals & Allied Products Export Promotion Council (CAPEXIL) for 2009–10.
  • In 2014, MRF positioned 48th in the list among India's most trusted brands according to the Brand Trust Report, a study carried out by Trust Research Advisory.
  • In 2014, MRF won the JD Power Award for the record 11th time.
