NSDL: National Securities Depository Limited

NSDL is an abbreviation of the National Securities Depository Limited. It is a central securities depository in India which deposits the securities of investors like shares, bonds, and debentures in electronic format. It is the primary and largest central securities depository in India that was founded to organize the matters and concerns in a category to solve, which are related to the paper-based settlement of securities such as awful delivery and delayed shifting of title.

NSDL full form

In I996, NSDL was founded, subsequent to the enactment of Depositories Act, 1996, to make possible trading and settlement of securities in electronic format. It allowed the investors to transfer the rights of securities through easy account transfer without comprising in paperwork. Its head office is situated in Mumbai, India.
