Problem Solution:

In this program, we will read a number from the user and convert it into a rational number using the to_r() function.

The source code to convert a number into a rational number is given below. The given program is compiled and executed successfully.

# Ruby program to convert a 
# number into rational number

print "Enter number: ";
num = gets.chomp.to_f;  

result = num.to_r();  

print "Rational number: ",result;

Output:

Enter number: 10.45
Rational number: 2941413506626355/281474976710656

Explanation:

In the above program, we read a number from the user using gets.chomp.to_f. Then we converted the input number into a rational number using the to_r() function and printed the result.
