Ruby Example: Write a program to create an empty file.

Problem Solution:

In this program, we will create an empty file using the File class. Then we will close created file object.

Program/Source Code:

The source code to create an empty file is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on Windows 10 Operating System successfully.

# Ruby program to create an empty file

# Create a text file.
fobj = File.new("MyFile.txt", "w"); 

# Close file object
fobj.close();  

puts "File created successfully";

Output:

File created successfully

Explanation:

In the above program, we created a file "MyFile.txt" by creating the object fobj of the File class. Then we used the close() method to close the opened file and printed the "File created successfully" message.
