Ruby program to sort the elements of the array in descending order using inbuilt functions

Last Updated : December 15, 2025

Problem Solution

In this program, we will create an array of integers then we will sort the array elements in descending order using inbuilt functions sort() and reverse() and print the updated array.

Program/Source Code

The source code to sort the elements of the array in descending order using the inbuilt function is given below. The given program is compiled and executed successfully.

# Ruby program to sort the elements of the array
# in descending order using the inbuilt function

arr = [10,20,30,20,50,30];

result = arr.sort().reverse();

print "Sorted array is: \n",result,"\n";

Output

Sorted array is:
[50, 30, 30, 20, 20, 10]

Explanation

In the above program, we created an array arr with some elements. Then we sorted the array elements in descending order using sort() and reverse() functions and printed the updated array.
