Scala – Printing Current Time (Milliseconds)

Here, we will get the current time in milliseconds using System.currentTimeMills method and print the result on the console screen.

Scala code to print the current time in milliseconds

The source code to print the current time in milliseconds is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on the ubuntu 18.04 operating system successfully.

// Scala program to print the
// current time in milliseconds

object Sample {
  def main(args: Array[String]) {
    val ms = System.currentTimeMillis;
    println(ms);
  }
}

Output

1620705579313

Explanation

In the above program, we used an object-oriented approach to create the program. And, we created a singleton object Sample and defined the main() function. The main() function is the entry point for the program.

In the main() function, we get the current time in milliseconds using System.currentTimeMills method and print result on the console screen.
