B.Tech: Bachelor of Technology

B.Tech is an abbreviation of Bachelor of technology. It is a bachelor engineering degree program for under graduation provided in many countries like India, the USA, Norway, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, etc. It is also spelled as "BTech". B.Tech engineering degree program duration is 3 to 4 years determined by different countries and universities. This undergraduate degree program in India is of 4-year duration, which is divided into eight semesters.

Bachelor of Technology degree program provided by some of India's top institutes and universities which are as follows,

  • IIT (Indian Institute of Technology): There are a total of 16 IITs in India at present which are the prestigious institutes for pursuing B.Tech in India.
  • NIT (National Institute of Technology): There are approximately 30 NITs in India at present which all are prestigious institutes for pursuing B.Tech in India.

Minimum criteria to get admission in B.Tech

Candidate should have completed at the minimum 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Or, the candidate should have a 3 years diploma in any engineering stream to get admission in the Second year (Lateral entry).
