CTA: Call To Action

CTA is an abbreviation of "Call To Action".

It is an expression, which is commonly used in the Gmail platform. It is basically written in the body of the email to tell the recipient that the email requires an immediate response. It is basically done when the email is sent not only for the reading purpose for the recipient but also it needed to be taken action on it. If it is written in the email CTA, it means that the email is not only for the reading purpose and some action needed to be taken on the email.

Let us take an example to make it easy to understand.

In an email, if it is written:

CTA for all the Senior Professors for the dispute occurred in the college.

This shows that the email asks for the call to action by the professor of the college for some problem occurred in the college.

Now, these days, the demands of acronyms are very high on social media online chatting or messaging, so the users usually use CTA as a replacement for Call To Action.

So, in this way, the abbreviation CTA is used mostly on the social media platform.

While this slang is very common in social media platforms, mainly email messaging, still many are unaware of this slang.

So, basically in emails if you want to inform the recipient that the email requires action immediately, you can simply write CTA instead of writing Call To Action. Writing CTA seems professional, provides strong communication, with fewer efforts and good time management.
