JK: Just Kidding

JK is an abbreviation of "Just Kidding".

It is an expression, which is commonly used in messaging or chatting on social media networking sites like Facebook, Yahoo Messenger, and Gmail, etc. When a user makes fun of something and wants to clarify that he/she has no bad intention or they just said in fun, they use the abbreviation JK instead of Just Kidding.

Let us take an example to make it easy to understand:

    1.	Person1: Hey, you became so fat.
    2.	Person2: What, Seriously?
    3.	Person1: Haha, JK.

Now, these days, the demands of acronyms are very high on social media online chatting or messaging, so the users usually use JK as a replacement for Just Kidding.

JK is very common among the gaming and chatting platform and widely used among the youth

Let us take a few more examples.

  • Hey, I was JK
  • Don't get offensive, she was JK
  • JK, you are truly amazing

So, in this way, the slang JK is used mostly on the social media platform.

In the corporate industry too, these slangs are common and used in a very large manner. The industry itself likes those employees who are smart enough and stay updated with such digital languages which are familiar, easy and are good at time management.

So from now, whenever you unknowingly or unintentionally made fun of something and then want to clarify that it was just for fun, say JK.

Thanks for reading.
