MCA: Master of Computer Application

MCA is an abbreviation of Master of Computer Application. It is a master's degree program for post-graduation in Computer applications. This post-graduate course duration is about 3 years. To apply for the MCA course, the minimum criteria for candidates is graduation from any renowned university and the candidate must have completed in higher secondary or 10+2 with Mathematics.

MCA Course Structure

The MCA course structure is classified into 6 semesters. In this structure of 6 semesters syllabus, the students have to study at the minimum 35 subjects like C programming, Object-oriented programming, Multimedia and business administration, Operation Research, Operating system, Accounting, and Finance Management, Software engineering, Microprocessor, Database, Discrete mathematics, etc. The course structure pays attention to developing and executing software at the system and application standard.

In today's time, MCA is one of the highly up-to-date career choices available. After MCA, A student can get a lot of job opportunities available. MCA students got jobs in both government and private companies. Government companies like NTPC, BHEL, GAIL, etc. and private companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, HCL, HP, etc. MCA students can do a job in private companies as a software developer/programmer/engineer, troubleshooter, system analyst, software consultant, technical writer, system developer, etc.
