PhD: Doctor of Philosophy

PhD is an abbreviation of Doctor of Philosophy. It is also called Ph.D., D.Phil or DPhil in some countries. A student who achieved a doctorate from any PhD program can refer to as a doctor and can use a "Dr." title in front of his/her name. The designation doctor technically applies to those who have received a doctoral degree. It is a research degree that is self-governing, self-directed and supported by one or more administrators.

PhD is a very highly esteemed and one of the topmost awarded academic degrees conferred by any university. The majority of the PhD degrees involve the completion of coursework, comprehensive exams, and a dissertation. It is a doctorate program for post-graduation and its researches take years of work and each student has to publish his or her work in research to be awarded a PhD degree. It takes around at the minimum 3 years of regulation for your unique research work. The main purpose of the PhD degrees is to make ready the next generation of foremost scientists and researchers.
