NNTO: No Need To Open

NNTO is an abbreviation of "No Need To Open".

It is an expression, which is commonly used in the Gmail platform. It is written on the subject of the email if the message contains the important part of the email and there is no need to open the email. This reduces the time for the recipient. It works as if the important message is in the subject of the email, and the body also contains the same or not so much important message, then the recipient is not needed to open the mail. If it is written in the subject NNTO, it means that the important message is contained in the subject itself and there is no need to open the email.

Let us take an example to make it easy to understand.

In email Subject, if it is written:
Meeting in Room 202, NNTO

This shows that the subject contains the important message itself and there is no need to open the email and read it.

Now, these days, the demands of acronyms are very high on social media online chatting or messaging, so the users usually use NNTO as a replacement for No Need To Open.

So, in this way, the abbreviation NNTO is used mostly on the social media platform.
While this slang is very common in social media platforms, mainly email messaging, still many are unaware of this slang.

So, basically in emails if you want to inform the recipient that the important message is contained in the subject of the email and there is no need to open the email, you can simply write NNTO instead of writing No Need To Open, which saves time, saves space for the subject line, takes less effort and is easier to understood.
