History of USB

In 1994, seven companies together namely Compaq, Nortel, Microsoft, Intel, DEC, NEC, and IBM in a group developed USB. To ease the process and comfort the user to make the connection of external devices with PC, USB was developed. Windows, Mac, etc. use a USB device and found it as a very useful component.

After you insert the device, it will automatically detect the device and further work on it. Rebooting of the computer is not required after the insertion of the USB device into the computer. Disadvantages of USB

  • Between the peripheral and host, single messages can only be communicated and Universal Serial Bus does not provide the feature of broadcasting.
  • The performance and capability of USB are in limit quantity.
