Problem Solution:

Here, we will create a user-defined function that will accept two arguments and will return the addition of both numbers to the calling function.

Program/Source Code:

The source code to create a function with argument and return value is given below. The given program is compiled and executed successfully.

// Swift program to create a function
// with argument and return value

import Swift

func AddNum(n1:Int,n2:Int)->Int {
    return n1+n2
}

var num1:Int = 10
var num2:Int = 20
var res:Int = 0

res = AddNum(n1:num1,n2:num2)

print("Addition is: ",res)

Output:

Addition is:  30

...Program finished with exit code 0
Press ENTER to exit console.

Explanation:

In the above program, we imported a package Swift to use the print() function using the below statement,

import Swift;

Here, we created a user-defined function AddNum(), which accepts two arguments and returns the addition of both numbers to the calling function. Then we called AddNum() function and assigned the result of the addition to the res variable and printed the result on the console screen.
