scala.math.cbrt() Function Example

Here, we will read a double number from the user and calculate the cube root of a given number using scala.math.cbrt() function and print the result on the console screen.

Scala code to calculate the cube root of a given number

The source code to calculate the cube root of a given number is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on the ubuntu 18.04 operating system successfully.

// Scala program to calculate the cube root
// of a given number

object Sample{
    def main(args:Array[String]){
        var num:Double    = 0;
        var res:Double = 0;

        print("Enter number: ")
        num=scala.io.StdIn.readDouble()

        res= scala.math.cbrt(num)
        println("result: "+res);
    }
}

Output

Enter number: 27
result: 3.0

Explanation

In the above program, we used an object-oriented approach to create the program. Here, we created an object Sample. We defined main() function. The main() function is the entry point for the program.

In the main() function, we created two variables num, res that are initialized with 0. Then we read the value of the num variable from the user and then we calculated the cube root of a given number using scala.math.cbrt() function and printed the result on the console screen.
