Problem Solution:

Here, we will read a name from the user using the readLine() function. The readLine() function returns optional string. Then we need to unwrap the optional using the if condition and then we will print the input name on the console screen.

Program/Source Code:

The source code to read a string from the user is given below. The given program is compiled and executed successfully.

// Swift program to read a string
// from the user

import Swift

print("Enter Name:")
if let name = readLine(){
    print("Name is: ",name)
}

Output:

Enter Name:
Sumit Kohli
Name is:  Sumit Kohli

...Program finished with exit code 0
Press ENTER to exit console.

Explanation:

In the above program, we imported a package Swift to use the print() function using the below statement,

import Swift;

Here, we read a name from the user and unwrap optional value and printed the result on the console screen.
