Scala – Convert Float to String

Here, we will create a floating-point number then we will convert the number into the string using the toString() method and print the result on the console screen.

Scala code to convert a floating-point number into a string

The source code to convert a floating-point number into the string is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on the ubuntu 18.04 operating system successfully.

// Scala program to convert floating point number
// into string

object Sample {
  def main(args: Array[String]) {
    var num: Float = 3.14f;
    var str: String = "";

    str = num.toString();
    printf("String is: %s\n", str);
  }
}

Output

String is: 3.14

Explanation

In the above program, we used an object-oriented approach to create the program. And, we created an object Sample. Here, we defined main() function. The main() function is the entry point for the program.

In the main() function, we created a float variable num with an initial value of 3.14F. Then we converted the floating-point number into the string using the toString() method and print the result on the console screen.
