Scala – Hash Code of a String

Here, we will create a string and then we will get the hash code of the string using the hashCode() method and print the result on the console screen.

Scala code to get the hash code of the string

The source code to get the hash code of the string is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on the ubuntu 18.04 operating system successfully.

// Scala program to get the hash code of
// the string

object Sample {
  def main(args: Array[String]) {
    var str: String = "India";
    var hash: Int = 0;

    hash = str.hashCode();
    printf("HashCode of the string: %d\n", hash);
  }
}

Output

HashCode of the string: 70793495

Explanation

In the above program, we used an object-oriented approach to create the program. And, we created an object Sample. Here, we defined main() function. The main() function is the entry point for the program.

In the main() function, we created a string variable str with the initial value "india". Then we get the hash code of the string using the hashCode() method and print the result on the console screen.
