Scala – Creating an Array of Strings

Here, we will create an array of strings, and then we will access each element from the array and print them on the console screen.

Scala code to create an array of strings

The source code to create an array of strings is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on the ubuntu 18.04 operating system successfully.

// Scala program to create a string array

object Sample {
    def main(args: Array[String]) {
        var StrArr = Array("india", "australia", "america", "canada", "usa" )

        println("Array element are: ")
        for ( item <- StrArr )
        {
            printf("%s ", item)
        }

        println()
    }
}

Output

Array element are:
india australia america canada usa

Explanation

In the above program, we used an object-oriented approach to create the program. We created an object Sample, and we defined main() function. The main() function is the entry point for the program.

In the main() function, we created an array StrArr that contains the name of countries. Then we accessed elements from the string array and printed them on the console screen.
