time = Time.new();
CurrentMonthOfYear = time.strftime("%m");

print "Current month of year is: ",CurrentMonthOfYear;

Output

Current month of year is: 02

Explanation

In the above program, we created the object of the Time class. Then we got the current month of the year out of 12 using the strftime() method with "%m" as an argument and printed the result.
