Last Updated : December 15, 2025

Problem Solution

In this program, we will get the current week-number of the year using the strftime() method of Time class and print the result.

Program/Source Code

The source code to get the current week-number of the year using the strftime() method is given below. The given program is compiled and executed successfully.

# Ruby program to get the current week-number of the year
# using strftime() method

time = Time.new();
CurrentWeekNumberOfYear = time.strftime("%U");

print "Current week-number of the year is: ",CurrentWeekNumberOfYear;

Output

Current week-number of the year is: 05

Explanation

In the above program, we created the object of the Time class. Then we got the current week-number of the year out of 365 using the strftime() method with "%U" as an argument and printed the result.
