How to create a user-defined function in Golang?

Problem Solution:

In this program, we will create a user-defined function SayHello(), and call the same function from the main() function.

Program/Source Code:

The source code to create a user-defined function is given below. The given program is compiled and executed successfully.

Golang code to create a user-defined function

// Golang program to create a user-defined function

package main

import "fmt"

func SayHello() {
	fmt.Println("Hello World")
}

func main() {
	SayHello()
}

Output:

Hello World

Explanation:

In the above program, we declare the package main. The main package is used to tell the Go language compiler that the package must be compiled and produced the executable file. Here, we imported the fmt package that includes the files of package fmt then we can use a function related to the fmt package.

In this program, we created a user defined function SayHello(), which is given below:

func SayHello() {
    fmt.Println("Hello World")
}

In the main() function, we called the SayHello() function and printed the "Hello World" message on the console screen.
