How to print the type of specified variable in Golang?

Problem Solution:

In this program, we will print the type of specified variable using the format specifier "%T" in fmt.Printf() function on the console screen.

Program/Source Code:

The source code to print the type of specified variable using format specifier in printf() function is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on the ubuntu 18.04 operating system successfully.

Golang code to print the type of specified variable using format specifier in printf() function

// Golang program to print the type of specified variable
// using format specifier in printf() function

package main

import "fmt"

func main() {
	var boolVar bool = true
	var intVar int = 10
	var floatVar float64 = 10.34

	fmt.Printf("Type of boolVar  : %T\n", boolVar)
	fmt.Printf("Type of intVar   : %T\n", intVar)
	fmt.Printf("Type of floatVar : %T\n", floatVar)
}

Output:

Type of boolVar  : bool
Type of intVar   : int
Type of floatVar : float64

Explanation:

In the above program, we declare the package main. The main package is used to tell the Go language compiler that the package must be compiled and produced the executable file. Here, we imported the fmt package then we can use a function related to the fmt

In the main() function, we created three variables boolVar, intVar, floatVar that are initialized with true, 10,10.34 respectively. After that, we printed the type of all variables using "%T" format specifier in fmt.Printf() function on the console screen.
