Here, we are going to learn how to create a BitSet in Scala programming language?

Scala - Create a BitSet

Here, we will create a set of integer numbers using the BitSet collection class. Then we will print elements of the bit set on the console screen.

The Bitset is used to positive integer numbers. It is used to represent the variable-size array of bits. It extends the Set trait.

Scala code to create a BitSet

The source code to create a BitSet is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on the ubuntu 18.04 operating system successfully.

// Scala program to create a BitSet

import scala.collection.immutable._

object Sample {
  // Main method
  def main(args: Array[String]) {
    var nums = BitSet(87, 70, 60, 30, 20, 50, 40, 10);

    println("Elements of bit set:");
    nums.foreach((item: Int) => printf("%d ", item));

    println();
  }
}

Output

Elements of bit set:
10 20 30 40 50 60 70 87

Explanation

Here, we used an object-oriented approach to create the program. And, we imported Collection classes using below statement,

import scala.collection.immutable._

Here, we also created a singleton object Sample and defined the main() function. The main() function is the entry point for the program.

In the main() function, we created a set nums using BitSet collection. Then we printed the elements of the bitset using the foreach loop on the console screen.
