Use of the 'type' keyword in Golang

Problem Solution:

In this program, we will create our own type using the "type" keyword. Then we will create a variable using the newly created type and print the value of the variable on the console screen.

Program/Source Code:

The source code to demonstrate the use of the "type" keyword is given below. The given program is compiled and executed successfully.

Golang code to demonstrate the example of the 'type' keyword

// Golang program to demonstrate
// the use of the "type" keyword

package main

import "fmt"

func main() {
	type MyType int
	var num MyType = 10

	fmt.Println("Num: ", num)
}

Output:

Num:  10

Explanation:

In the above program, we declare the package main. The main package is used to tell the Go language compiler that the package must be compiled and produced the executable file. Here, we imported the fmt package that includes the files of package fmt then we can use a function related to the fmt package.

In the main() function, we created our own type MyType using the type keyword. After that, we created the variable num using MyType and initialized it with 10. Then we printed the value of num on the console screen.
