Regular Expression Function FindAllStringSubmatchIndex() in Golang

Problem Solution:

In this program, we will find substrings matched based on the specified pattern within the string but here we also specify the limit to get the matched substrings, and then we will print the start and end index of matched string and its sub-matched value on the console screen.

Program/Source Code:

The source code to demonstrate the regular expression function FindAllStringSubmatchIndex() is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on the ubuntu 18.04 operating system successfully.

Golang code to demonstrate the example of regular expression function FindAllStringSubmatchIndex()

// Golang program to demonstrate the regular expression
// function FindAllStringSubmatchIndex()

package main

import "fmt"
import "regexp"

func main() {
	result, _ := regexp.Compile("L([A-Z]+)N")

	fmt.Println(result.FindAllStringSubmatchIndex("LAN is Network and it is used to LINK computers and the king of forest is LION", 2))
	fmt.Println(result.FindAllStringSubmatchIndex("LAN is Network and it is used to LINK computers", 1))
}

Output:

[[0 3 1 2] [33 36 34 35]]
[[0 3 1 2]]

Explanation:

In the above program, we declare the package main. The main package is used to tell the Go language compiler that the package must be compiled and produced the executable file. Here, we imported the fmt, regexp packages then we can use a function related to the fmt and regexp package.

In the main() function, we found substring matched based on the specified pattern within the string based on the given limit using FindAllStringSubmatchIndex() function. The FindAllStringSubmatchIndex() function returns the start and ends index of matched substring and its sub-matched value on the console screen.
