strings.Replace() function in Golang

Problem Solution:

In this program, we will replace a specified character with another character using strings.Replace() function and print result on the console screen.

Program/Source Code:

The source code to demonstrate the strings.Replace() function is given below. The given program is compiled and executed successfully.

Golang code to demonstrate the example of strings.Replace() function

// Golang program to demonstrate the
// strings.Replace() function.

package main

import "fmt"
import "strings"

func main() {
	var str string = "india is great country"
	var result1 string
	var result2 string

	//Replace specified character at all occurrences
	result1 = strings.Replace(str, "i", "I", -1)
	fmt.Println("Result1: ", result1)

	//Replace first occurrence of specified character
	result2 = strings.Replace(str, "i", "I", 1)
	fmt.Println("Result2: ", result2)
}

Output:

Result1:  IndIa Is great country
Result2:  India is great country

Explanation:

In the above program, we declare the package main. The main package is used to tell the Go language compiler that the package must be compiled and produced the executable file. Here, we imported the fmt package that includes the files of package fmt then we can use a function related to the fmt package.

In the main() function, we created three variables str, result1, result2. Then we used strings.Replace() function to replace a specified character with another character in the string. After that, we printed the result on the console screen.
